Hey, i’m not your doll!

This set consists of dolls realised in painting, engraving and installation. From the title alone, the series intends to affirm the dignity of women with the strong rejection to consider oneself someone’s doll, which is why the doll here takes on a provocative and symbolic intention. The choice of materials, based above all on the use of recycled cardboard, aluminum film for food and used clothing, falls within the scope of creative recycling and is therefore in line with today’s environmental sustainability needs. The chromatic range is bold with the use of fluorescent colours and insertions of geometric parts that accompany the figuration, which is very synthetic. Visual references are in the works of William Kentridge, Anthea Hamilton and Kalen Lennox, both for the Pop elements and the intent of social denunciation, all immersing the viewer in a fantastic and colorful world that makes him feel like a child again.
